A marina in every coastal city

   
In large comparative advantages of our country are the natural conditions for marine tourism development existence. Calm seas and sunshine. Despite the delay that exists, it appears to be a constant goal that Cyprus can enter the map of marine tourism and gain of the most beautiful marinas in the Mediterranean. A marina in every coastal city of Cyprus is the vision of the development of nautical tourism in Cyprus and the aim is to become an attraction vacationers middle and upper-income, especially from neighboring countries such as Israel, Egypt and Lebanon.

Marina Agia Napa

Marina Paralimni
The company PMV Maritime Holdings Ltd was awarded the tender for the construction and management of marina Paralimni. The total project cost is estimated to reach € 110 million. And will be built in the area of ​​the fishing port of Aghios Nikolaos, in Paralimni and under contract, the work is expected to start around the middle of 2017. It is a small and flexible marina capacity of 300 vessels and will include residential, tourist and commercial developments.

The consortium «Poseidon Grand Marina of Paphos» commissioned by the Ministry of Commerce, the construction of the marina Paphos, while the total cost for the construction of the project is expected to reach € 400 million. The case of the creation of Paphos marina came to court because consortia which submitted tenders until the date was set, ie June 29, 2007, had filed an appeal to the Tenders Review Authority which eisigountan that the award of the tender in one of consortia did not meet the criteria and conditions of the contest. The Tenders Review Authority after examining the appeal came to the decision that the application were correct and canceled the initial award by the contracting authority. Then, the other consortium affected by the decision of the Tenders Review Authority filed an appeal to the Supreme Court requesting a stay of proceedings and an interim order, and indeed achieved the Reviewing Authority Decision provisional suspension order. Subsequently submitted an appeal to the Supreme Court, which quashed the interim order and the Reviewing Authority. Since then, the case was pending in the courts until early 2016 when the Supreme finally epedikase work on "Poseidon Grand Marina of Paphos".  Larnaca Marina: A story without end ...



The Cabinet has given approval to the Zenon Consortium from the start date of the negotiations in July 2010, for a large number of extensions in an attempt to reach agreement without success. "Despite the efforts made by the Government to reach agreement on the Harbour project and the Larnaca Marina, the Zenon Consortium failed to meet its commitments and obligations assumed," the government official said after five years -in 15 June 2015. therefore, the negotiations finally ended and the government decided not to renew the period of validity of the offer ended then.
 
The international rating agency E & Y recently presented the study carried out with respect to the uniform development of the port and the marina of Larnaca. According to the study, it should be remodeling the whole of the Larnaca harbor front, with mooring of larger vessels, since -as tonistike- there is the will to develop other functions such as port cruise. Regarding the marina, the study provides berthing 700 vessels, creating land maintenance sites and repair of large vessels, storage areas and parking spaces.Also, the creation of offices, shops, restaurants and coffee-shops and the building of houses and five star hotel. According to the designers of the project, the objective is the development of the port and the marina of Larnaca is sustainable, to provide jobs and offer the economy of both the city and the country. The government aims to complete the preliminary study in early September 2016 and invitation of tenders order in 2017 to find an investor. The ultimate goal, if all goes according to plan, the successful bidder to start in 2018 working on the integrated development of the harbor and marina.
